Roman Wales
The Romans arrived in Britain in AD 43 and began their conquest of Wales in AD 48. They had completed their conquest in AD 78 and remained until AD 383. They were resisted by the Ordovicians and Silurians, particularly in south-east Wales - onetime led by Caractacus (Caradog). No Roman industries were established in Wales, but there was heavy mining of gold, copper and led with moderate mining of zinc and silver.
