Eisteddfod
- The eisteddfod is a Welsh festival of literature and performance.
- The tradition of such a meeting of Welsh artists is supposed to date back to the tewelfth century and the Celtic bards.
- The present eisteddfod, however, dates back only to 1792, when the tradition was revived by Edward Williams, who is better known by his bardic name, lolo Morgannwg.
- The National Eisteddfod has a different venue in August of each year, but there is an annual International musical Eisteddfod, held in Llangollen every July.
