Management and Funding Schools
The Welsh Government provides funding to local authorities not directly to schools. They pay each school according to number of pupils in that school (and their age). Schools are responsible for paying almost everything-except the building of new schools. Region is responsible for deciding how many schools will be there. Local Authority (LA) is education department of the country (region). LAs provide expert advice and monitor schools. Government inspects individual schools once every 6 years. This is a career ladder of a teacher:
- Teacher
- Head of Department
- Assistant Headteacher
- Deputy Headtecher
- Headteacher
